Friday Drama-day

Friday Favorite Drama-day

As you all know we've only had a few MVs released this week and none of them have taken our immediate interest (makes a hole and hides). The songs are great and addictive however the MVs are straightforward . . . rather than presenting you a short rant on the MV we thought it would be more interesting to give you guys something more fresh.

And here it is....our favorite drama for this week: A Gentleman's Dignity (cue F44 music)
For those of you who don't know the synopsis of this drama, here is a little something to get you up to date:
We go through the story of four middle aged adolescents men (the F44) who each have their own problems in terms of love and career (we intend to focus more on their relationships....). They're all intertwined in a complicated yet easy to understand story which we really love. The plot is refreshing because it's not your typical k-drama story; rather than the drama focusing on the love and life of younger generations this drama presents the story of older generations who still have an exciting life.

Our F44:
Jang Dong Gun as Kim Do Jin

Our main man. He's an architect that runs a business alongside one of his best buddies, Im Tae San. He's known to be a womanizer with his perfect face and body however he has no intentions of getting married because he's reluctant to share his income (talk about being a gentleman).
We see him fall helplessly in love with Kim Ha Neul and this is how he starts off his duty as an unrequited lover. (He does have a really funny way of showing it though)

Kim Soo Ro as Im Tae San

Macho oozes out of this man. He's the man of this group and acts before he thinks (which not always gives him the desired outcome). We must say that he does have the body for the role however. Im Tae San is the leading man in Kim Ha Neul's life but also the boyfriend of Hong Sae Ra. (You see how everything comes together)

Kim Min Jong as Choi Yoon

The brain of this group (they really need one). He's the quite, shy man who is also a lawyer. He looks depressed half the time and that is due to the death of his wife...7 years ago. The twist comes when he becomes the leading man in Im Mae A-ri's life who is the sister of Im Tae San (this story has more connections than train lines). We have seen little glimmers of feelings being exchanged between these two however nothing has yet been confirmed.

Lee Jong Hyuk as Ko Young Do

A group is always in need of a player and here he is. The infamous player who owns a coffee shop and  is also married to Min Sook (his noonim) who owns all the businesses that you'll ever hear of in this drama.....(hahah talk about being sarcastic). He's constantly being suspected by his wife who threatens to divorce him. This is bad news for all of our boys as the divorce also leads to their businesses going down the drain as Min Sook finances them all which leads to our player being bullied into keeping her happy. (We think that he really does love her however hasn't found a way to show it yet plus it makes the show a million times funnier when you see him swallow his own ring xD)

Meet the Ladies:
Kim Ha Neul as Seo Yi Soo
Yi Soo is in love with Im Tae San but we've seen her gradually change her interest towards Kim Do Jin (we cannot wait to see them together). She is a high school teacher who seems to be liked by a bad-boy student.

Yoon Se Ah as Hong Se Ra
She is the golf playing girlfriend of Im Tae San and a best friend of Seo Yi Soo. She's a cold player herself and keeps her boyfriend at bay however we do see slight changes in her attitude as she grows warmer towards Im Tae San. Later on, you can sense that she really does love him and doesn't want to lose him especially since she found out Seo Yi Soo has a one-sided love for Im Tae San.

Yoon Jin Yi as Im Mae Ah Ri
The youngest and the most bubbly female character in the drama. If there is a misunderstanding, she's probably the cause of it. She's not afraid of expressing her love for her lawyer-nim who is the best friend of her brother. We are yet to find out why she is so hopelessly in love with him.

Kim Jung Nan as Park Min Sook
Noona wife of Young Do who is always suspicious of her husband's whereabouts. She wants him to love her however she finds it difficult to get him to become sincere. She is a rich lady who knows exactly how to control her young womanizing husband.

And let's not forget the cuties:

Lee Jong Hyun as Colin
Colin is a mysterious character so far. But from our observation *spoiler* it seems that one of the F44 is his father but that is yet to be unfold. He came from abroad and encountered Mae Ah Ri is the plane for the first time. Later on though, they have a sweet noona-dongsaeng relationship as he tries to get more info on the F44 which makes Me Ah Ri suspicious of his intentions. (and Yoon into a jealous man )

Kim Woo Bin as Kim Dong Hyub
Dong Hyub is the trouble-making student in Seo Yi Soo's class.  He freely flirts with Yi Soo every opportunity he gets especially if he's caught by Yi Soo when he's causing trouble. You can just never be angry at him.

The story so far has been the most interesting and the funniest for us. We're always waiting for it to be subbed and cannot to wait to find out what lies ahead. One of the funniest moments being our F44 going back to high school. As preposterous as it sounds, our middle ages men act out their high school scenes and as ridiculous as it looks, we cannot imagine anyone else playing their roles - young or old.

The little side story at the beginning of each episode is ridiculously hilarious and interesting. We get to know a little about F44 and their hobbies (which mostly involves girls).

We love the plot of this story and as it was written by the same person who write Secret Garden, we can notice a little resemblance between our main male character, Kim Do Jin and Secret Garden's Kim Joo Won. They are both cold city men who develop one-sided love for the female character. But even though there are some resemblance between them they are unique and lovable in their own way.

The theme of this drama is about love, breakup, friendship, success and failure. They all play a significant role in each of the characters' life at some point. The drama shows all the possibility a person can face in their life and how it can be overcome.

The relationships in this drama interlink with each other which makes it so much more exciting. The F44 all have a female character who they are pursuing or being pursued by.Our favorite couple might just be the noona-dongsaeng couple (Min Sook & Young Do) who never fail to bring us laughter every episode with their rocky relationship.

Here's the teaser of this show to further hypnotize you into watching it.
It comes out every Saturday and Sunday. Make sure you catch it. ^^
